Day 1: Cusco-Sacred Valley 

  • At 9:00 AM, we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco to begin your unforgettable Sacred Valley tour.
  • We head north of Cusco, stopping along the way to learn about Inca history, local culture, and traditions from your expert guide.
  • Our first stop is Chinchero, a traditional Andean village known as a major textile center. Here, you’ll meet local weavers, learn ancient techniques, interact with indigenous communities, and see llamas and alpacas. You’ll also explore the impressive Inca ruins of Chinchero.
  • Next, we visit the famous Salt Mines of Maras, where you’ll enjoy a short walk and time to explore these unique terraced salt pools.
  • We continue to Moray, a fascinating Inca agricultural site, where you’ll walk among its circular terraces and learn about its purpose.
  • In the afternoon, we drive to Ollantaytambo, home to the train station and one of the last living Inca towns.
  • You’ll board the scenic train to Aguas Calientes, a 1.5-hour journey through the Andes.
  • Upon arrival, we transfer you to your hotel for the night, giving you time to rest or explore the town.

Optional: We can customize the Sacred Valley experience by visiting the Pisac & Ollantaytambo Inca Site, with the opportunity for a guided walk from the Inca ruins to the local market. All tours are flexible and can be adapted to your interests.

Day 2: Machu Picchu, Wonder of the World.

  • We start the day early with a hotel pickup and a 25-minute bus ride up to the iconic Machu Picchu Inca Citadel. Depending on the weather, we arrive around 6:00 AM to begin the guided experience.
  • You’ll enjoy a fully guided tour of Machu Picchu with an expert local guide, exploring its most impressive structures and learning about its history, architecture, and cultural significance. We’ll also find the best viewpoints for stunning photos of this masterpiece of Inca engineering.
  • If available, we include a second entrance ticket for extended exploration of the citadel.
  • After the tour, we take the shuttle bus back down to Aguas Calientes, where you’ll have time to relax before boarding the train to Ollantaytambo.
  • Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, our representative will meet you and provide private transportation back to Cusco, dropping you off at your hotel.

Note: The time you can visit Machu Picchu depends on availability, your preferences, and the timing of your entrance ticket to the citadel.

Huayna Picchu Mountain

  • Distance: ~2 km (1.2 miles)
  • This steep and adventurous climb offers panoramic views and the chance to see lesser-known Inca ruins, including the Temple of the Moon. It’s ideal for those looking for a short but challenging ascent.
  • Altitude: 3,082 meters (10,111 ft)
  • Total hike time: Approx. 3.5 to 4 hours (round trip)
  • Distance: ~3.2 km (2 miles)
  • This hike follows the original Inca Trail, a higher viewpoint above the citadel. The trail is longer and less steep than Huayna Picchu, offering breathtaking views of Machu Picchu and the surrounding Andes.

  • For your Machupicchu Sunrise Package here you have the list of items recommend bringing. Keep in mind that some of the items are for hiking too, so it compeltely depends on your criteria!
    • FIRST AID KIT – Always bring a small personalized first aid kit. We used the .5 Ultralight Kit and added extras, like painkillers, DIAMOX, and personal medications. If you have medical problems let us know at the time of the booking.
    • SUN PROTECTION – Sunglasses (polarized recommended), sunscreen, and 45 SPF lip balm are an absolute must.
    • POCKET KNIFE  – We brought along a small Swiss Army Knife which came in handy here and there. This should be considered optional, but we recommend hiking with one.
    • PACK COVER – We suggest having pack covers because they can help with the rain protection. Ziploc bags also come in handy.  Rain could happen any time.
    • TREKKING POLES (optional) – We recommend hiking with trekking poles, many hikers in Peru do. If you have bad knees/ankles they can help reduce strain on big ascents and descents.
